Shin (ש)

Shin, the thirty-first path, connects Hod and Malkuth. It is the character "Sh" or "S".

Shin is one of the three mother letters, which represent primal elements. They are the axes that create space. Its attributions are:

Element fire
Directionnorth/south
Number ש‎ = 300
Nameשין
MeaningTooth[1] (the Holy Spirit)
Tarot trumpThe Aeon (Judgment in classical decks)
ColorOrange scarlet
Yetsiratic Attribution[2] Perpetual Intelligence (continual consciousness, Sekhel Tamidi, שכל תמידי), because it regulates the motions of the Sun and Moon in their proper order, each in an orbit convenient for it.

The Ari and the Gra teach that ש connects Chokmah to Binah.

300 is also the enumeration of רוח אלהים, Ruach Elohim, the Breath of God.[3]
