Geburah, Strength

Geburah
Geburah, Strength

He chose three letters
from among the Elementals
[in the Mystery of the three Mothers
Alef Mem Shin]
And he set them in His great Name
and with them, He sealed six Extremities.
Five: He sealed "above" and faced upward
and sealed it with י ה ו
— Sepher Yetzirah

Geburah is the Destroyer, the Warrior King, the Power of Judgement. It is the response to boundaries: where Chesed wants to push boundaries around, Geburah is reactionary, wanting to keep them where they are.

גבורה is 216, 6 x 6 x 6. Of it, we are told:
Gevurah = 216 = 3 times 72 (chesed). Each of God's 72 hidden Names possesses three letters, in all -- 216 letters.

Geburah is also called Pechad (פחד, Fear).
